What the job involves
Most fencing enquiries arrive because something else happened first. The tree came down and took the fence with it. The hedge clearance opened up a boundary that's been invisible for twenty years and now needs a proper line. The storm pushed the old fence over and it was half-rotten anyway. We handle practical timber fencing as a natural follow-on from the tree work, which means one team, one set of site knowledge, and no handoff to a different contractor who doesn't know why the ground looks the way it does.
- Assess the boundary and the state of the existing fence or edge after clearance or damage
- Agree on the right type of fencing for the setting, timber, post-and-rail, estate-style
- Prepare the run, remove old fence, level ground, deal with root material if needed
- Install with attention to post spacing, levels, and the durability of the finish
- Leave the boundary clean, straight, and actually secure
After a large leylandii hedge was removed from a rear boundary, the fence behind it was in poor condition and the line needed resetting. We cleared the stumps, levelled the ground, and installed a new timber fence on the correct boundary line. The customer had been planning to get two separate contractors for it. We did it in one visit.
